Snapshots are Mojang's weekly development builds of Minecraft: Java Edition. New snapshot server JARs appear here automatically as soon as Mojang publishes them. Run them in a separate folder — snapshot worlds usually can't be downgraded.

Quick setup

  1. Download the latest snapshot JAR into a folder separate from your main server.
  2. Install the newest Java release (21+).
  3. Run the command below.
  4. Set eula=true in eula.txt, then start again.
  5. Join with a launcher profile set to the same snapshot version.
java -Xms2G -Xmx2G -jar server.jar nogui
