The vanilla server JAR is Mojang's official Minecraft: Java Edition server — the pure, unmodified game. Every version here is fetched directly from Mojang's official version manifest, from the newest release back through Minecraft history.

Quick setup

  1. Download the server JAR for your version into an empty folder.
  2. Install Java 21+ for Minecraft 1.20.5+ (older versions need older Java).
  3. Run the command below.
  4. Set eula=true in eula.txt, then start again.
  5. Configure server.properties and share your IP.
java -Xms2G -Xmx2G -jar server.jar nogui
